Who is the course for?
The Assessor Initial Training has been developed for individuals who are designated to perform the role of competence assessor within their organisation. This course imparts the initial training requirements to enable trainee Assessors to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out competence assessments.
What certificate will i receive?
Successful candidates will be awarded with an OPITO Approved Competence Assessor Training Certificate.
There is no expiry date for the OPITO approved Competence Assessor Training certificate.
Note: It is the learner’s employing company’s responsibility to determine the validity of this certificate and how to re-validate the learner’s training.
What can the course lead to?
Upon successful completion of the training, Assessors my progress and complete OPITO Workplace Evidence and obtain a formal Scottish Qualification Credit Framework Level 8 Vocational Assessor Qualification.
What is the duration of the course?
This is a self-paced LMS, which can be completed at your own pace, however, all units and the workplace evidence requirements must be completed within 12 months.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no formal learner pre-requisites for attendance on the Competence Assessor Training; although learners must provide evidence that they will have access to assess a minimum of two candidates undergoing an assessment process in their workplace.
What does the course cover?
This course covers the initial training to enable trainee assessors, now referred to as learners, to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills which underpin the tasks to be performed as an Assessor.
