The LEEA Accredited Appointed Person training is for personnel that wish to renew their existing LEEA Appointed Person qualification, or convert their existing Appointed Person Training to a LEEA Accredited qualification.

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will be awarded with a LEEA Accredited Certificate, valid for 3 years.

LEEA accredited training can lead to a number of onshore construction sector rigging roles, internationally.

Learners, after serving some time, may choose to progress to complete Critical Lift Planning training to progress their careers.

What is the duration of the course?

The optimum ‘contact time’ for this training programme is seen as 8 hours over 1 consecutive days.

Optimum contact time is based on the maximum number of learners attending.

What are the entry requirements?

Learners must be acting Appointed Persons, with a valid training certificate or, a certificate that has expired within the last 6 months.

Training contains physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. Learners must:

1. Complete a GSS medical screening form prior to attendance.

What does the course cover?

The aim and objectives of the LEEA Appointed Person Assessment / Reassessment is to establish that the learners has maintained the competence requirement for the role of Appointed Person.

How is the course assessed?

The Appointed Person assessment/reassessment is comprised of two parts:

1. Knowledge assessment

The knowledge assessment comprises a written examination of which the pass mark is 80%. Students will be required to reference materials, such as BS7121, LOLER, PUWER and local legislative and regulatory documents.

2. Practical assessment

The practical assessment comprises of a lifting plan exercise scenario. The learner will be provided with a scenario, for which they will need to plan the lift, risk assessment and method statement.

Both assessments will be invigilated.
