Course Description
COMING SOON!
This course is designed for personnel across the energy sector who require a theoretical understanding and awareness of Confined Spaces*, associated hazards and guidance.
*Confined Space Definition:
Any space of an enclosed nature where there is a risk of death or serious injury from hazardous substances or dangerous conditions within the space or nearby.
A space that is large enough and so configured that a person can bodily enter and perform assigned work and has limited or restricted means for entry or exit and is not designed for continuous human occupancy.
Note: Where regional legislative differences occur, the OPITO course will cover the local legislative definition. The course currently covers definitions for the United Kingdom, India and Qatar.

What certificate will i receive?
There are no prerequisites required for the Confined Space Awareness course.
What can the course lead to?
This Product covers how confined spaces are defined and recognised, the specific regulations and guidelines, hazards, control measures, roles and responsibilities and testing. The objectives of the Confined Space Awareness are that learners will be able to understand: a) Applicable regional legislation and guidelines b) Confined Space definitions and recognition c) Hazards associated with confined spaces d) Hazards arising from work conducted in confined spaces e) Roles and Responsibilities for confined space entry including restrictions i.e. what certain roles should not do f) Atmospheric testing in confined spaces g) Safe Systems of work for confined spaces (incl. PTW where applicable) h) PPE and RPE and equipment used in confined spaces i) Communication methods when working in confined spaces j) Emergency procedures and rescue plans and require equipment k) Toolbox talk and Dynamic Risk Assessment prior to confined space entry checks
