Course Description
This training programme is designed for individuals who are healthcare providers (in and out of hospital), public safety professionals in a variety of occupational settings, or individuals enrolled in healthcare and public safety career training pro- grammes who require BLS training.
What certificate will i receive?
Delegates who successfully complete the training course will be issued HSI certificate valid for 2 years.
What is the duration of the course?
The optimum ‘contact time’ for this training programme is seen as 5 hours. Optimum contact time is based on the maximum number of delegates attending.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no prerequisites for this training programme.
What does the course cover?
This training programme covers seven main segments:
1. Introduction
2. Adult BLS
3. Child BLS
4. Infant BLS 5. Choking
6. Required knowledge and skill assessment
7. Conclusion
How is the course assessed?
Delegates will be required to under-
take the following:
1) Performance assessment:
Delegates will need to demonstrate actions that need to be taken based on scenarios provided as part of Adult and Infant BLS assessments.
2) Knowledge assessment:
Delegates will need to take an ‘Open book’ online exam with 21 questions, and obtain a passing score of 74% or better
