Course Description
The Mobile Crane Operator Assessment is a LEEA-accredited competency evaluation designed to assess the practical skills, technical knowledge, and safety awareness of personnel operating mobile cranes. This assessment verifies that candidates are capable of performing lifting operations safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards and workplace procedures.
What certificate will i receive?
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will be awarded with a LEEA Accredited Certificate, valid for 2 years.
What is the duration of the course?
The optimum ‘contact time’ for this training programme is seen as 8 hours over 1 consecutive day. Optimum contact time is based on the maximum number of learners attending.
What are the entry requirements?
Learners must hold a LEEA Mobile Crane Operator Stage 2 or 3 Certificate, or an industry recognised Stage 2 or 3 certificate. A valid LEEA Mobile Crane Operator Stage 3 certificate or expired certificate issued within the last 30 months. Alternatively, a company issued Mobile Crane Operator certificate with a letter from their employer confirming the certification is of equivalent standard to the LEEA stage 2 syllabus.
What does the course cover?
The aim and objectives of the assessment is to formally assess the candiate holds the the required underpinning knowledge, understanding and practical skills to fulfill the role of mobile crane operator safely and effectively.
How is the course assessed?
The Mobile Crane Operator assessment is comprised of two parts:
1. Knowledge assessment
The knowledge assessment comprises a written examination of which the learner will be asked a series of questions during the theory element of the training
2. Practical assessment
The practical assessment comprises of a lifting plan exercise scenario. Learners will be expected to carry out a series of lifts following a lift plan. Both assessments will be invigilated.
