This course is designed for individuals who will manage the site rigging loft as a Rigging Loft Controller. This course is not designed for individuals wishing to become Lifting Equipment Examiners or Inspectors. What certificate will i receive?
Upon successful completion of the course learners will be awarded with a LEEA Accredited Certificate, valid for 5 years.
Certificates can be verified through our website or through the LEEA website.
What is the duration of the course?
The optimum ‘contact time’ for this assessment is seen as 8 hours over 1 days. Optimum contact time is based on the maximum number of learners attending.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no pre-requisites for the initial training. However, Learners should have previous experience in lifting operations, in particular the types of lifting equipment stored in a rigging loft and pre-use inspection.
Medical Requirements
Training contains physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate in such training must be medically fit and capable of participating fully. Learners must either:
a. Possess an employing company approved medical certificate equivalent to an offshore medical certificate; or
b. Undergo medical screening by completing an appropriate medical screening form provided by GSS.
What does the course cover?
The aim and objectives of the training course are to provide the learner with knowledge, understanding and skills to enable them to setup and manage a rigging loft.
How is the course assessed?
Learners will be assessed against the theory outcomes through a written test.
Learners will be assessed against the practical criteria, through observation of them completing a series of practical exercises.
