This online self-paced OPITO Approved Assessor Initial Training Course is an initial training program that provides Learners with the foundation knowledge and understanding of Assessment. It does not qualify individuals as Assessors, and successful candidates may choose to progress and complete a full vocational qualification to become an Assessor by completing the OPITO Assessor Workplace Evidence Requirements and qualify as an Assesor.
What certificate will i receive?
OPITO Certificate, with no expiry date.
OPITO Certificates can be verified using the QR Code on the certificate.
What is the duration of the course?
This is a self-paced online study program is completed at your own pace.
Learners have a maximum of 12 months to complete the training.
What are the entry requirements?
This training course has no prerequisites and is open to all participants.

- Planning and carrying out the Assessment

- Feedback and Record Keeping
- Recording Assessment Decisions
- Providing Feedback
How is the course assessed?
Learners will need to complete the 3 mandatory units:
OIS-407 Introduction to Assessment
- You will study a series of course manuals, and then submit a series of written assignments for marking by your Tutor.
OIS-408 Planning and carrying out the Assessment
- You will study a series of course manuals, a series of demonstration videos, and then submit a series of written assignments, an assessment plan, and take part in some online discussions. These will be marked by your Tutor.
OIS-409 Feedback and Record Keeping
- You will study a series of course manuals, a series of demonstration videos, and then submit a series of written assignments, record some feedback scenarios, and take part in some online discussions. These will be marked by your Tutor.
You will be assigned a UK Assessor to support you throughout your journey.
