The LEEA Accredited Lifting and Slinging training is personnel who are required by their employer to undertake the duties of a Slinger and Signaller for lifting operations.

This course is an entry level course suitable for those looking to enter a career as a Slinger/Signaller or Rigger in the construction Industry.

NB. The term Slinger / Rigger are commonly interchanged for jobs in the Middle East and this training is focussed on lifting operations involving cranes, not portable lifting equipment.

The LEEA Accredited Appointed Person training is for personnel who are required to undertake the duties of an appointed person for lifting operations and lifts, conduct risk assessments and develop method statements for a range of basic, intermediate and complex lifts.

The LEEA Accredited Crane Supervisor / Lift Supervisor training is personnel who are required to undertake the duties of an Crane / Lift Supervisor during lifting operations.

The LEEA Accredited Appointed Person training is for personnel that wish to renew their existing LEEA Appointed Person qualification, or convert their existing Appointed Person Training to a LEEA Accredited qualification.

This course is aimed at anyone who is required to plan safe systems of work using lifting equipment.


The target group for Banksman and Slinger Competence Assessment are personnel that wish to become OPITO-certified competent banksman and slingers - having successfully completed the OPITO Banksman and Slinger Initial Training Standard and Banksman and Slinger Workplace Experience Logbook or possess sufficient and relevant work experience to be eligible for the OPITO Banksman and slinger Competence assessment.

The LEEA Accredited Offshore Crane Operator (Introductory) Training is a 5-day course, and is intended for personnel who have little or no crane operating experience and wish to gain theoretical and practical knowledge of offshore crane operations.

The LEEA Accredited Offshore Crane Operator (Advanced) Training is a 5-day course, and is for individuals who have successfully completed the LEEA OCO Stage 1 Training or, hold existing Mobile Crane Operator Training certification and wish to progress to the next stage which is a more advanced training programme using an offshore pedestal crane.

The OPITO-approved Offshore Crane Operator Stage 3 Competence Assessment is a 1-day workplace assessment conducted at the client site.
